π Go Eat Pastaβs 8-Day Guide to the South of Italy
Sorrento β’ Positano β’ Capri
for cool girls who want lemon pasta, boat tans, tiled terraces & the perfect espresso martini photo.
ποΈ Best Time to Visit:
- May, June & September = great time in my opinion; great weather, ferry season open, more availability. Though water is a bit cold in May and June!
- JulyβAugust = this is the high season, if you like crowds this is the time for you, but it will be hot π
π Travel & Logistics Notes:
- π The roads are very narrow (you can rent a car but parking and roads are a challenge)
- π₯οΈ Ferries & taxis are your best friends β especially for Positano/Capri
- π Taxis from town to town are expensive, but reliable
- π« Book ferries early during peak season
- 𧳠Pack light β hills + stairs + cobblestones
β¨ 8-Day Itinerary Overview
π Days 1β3: Sorrento (Base Town)
Day 1 β Welcome to Sorrento
- Arrive in Sorrento
- Sunset stroll through the old town (small town but great authentic vibes)
- π Dinner at Da Franco β casual, pizza, locals love it
- π Lemon sorbets and lemon slushies are a must in this hot weather
Day 2 β Beach Day + Coastal Vibes
- Day at one of Sorrentoβs beach clubs (Bagni Regina Giovanna or Leonelli's, beaches are all next to each other but it makes sense to book a couple of days ahead)
- Swim, tan, relax β this is a slower day
- πΈ Golden hour views from Villa Comunale
- π Dinner at O Parrucchiano (home of the original cannelloni, magical garden setting under lemon trees)
Day 3 β Day Trip to Amalfi & Ravello
- Morning taxi or ferry to Amalfi town
- Visit Duomo di Amalfi and grab a lemon sorbet (sorbet inside an actual giant lemon!)
- π½οΈ Lunch at Da Gemma β seaside fine dine classic (great pasta highly recommend)
- Head to Ravello via taxi or local bus
- Visit Villa Cimbrone β must-see Infinity Terrace, seriously out of this world!!
- Stroll Ravello town

- β¨ Finish the day with cocktails in Belmond Carusoβs amazing terrace
- Return to Sorrento for the night
β¨ Days 4β5: Positano β Views, Vibes & Aperol Everything
πAbout Positano:
Positano is built into the cliffs, so yes β youβll climb.
There are stairs everywhere. Make sure to stay in an hotel or airbnb near Le Sirenuse hotel, that has less climbing than average Positano accomodation π
Day 4 β Beach, Town & Sunset Drinks
- Check into your Positano stay
- Head straight to LβIncanto Beach Club β reserve a bed ahead in high season
- π₯ Lunch by the sea at LβIncanto (easy breezy local seafood & spritz)
- Afternoon stroll through town β lots of linen shops, lemon ceramics, and Instagram balconies
- πΈ Sunset drinks at Da Franco's (the view + the mood = iconic)
- π Dinner at Le Tre Sorelle (classic spot on the beach β lively, beautiful setting)
- π End your night at Music on the Rocks β a club in an actual cave (the vibe is fun if you're with friends, donβt expect Mykonos energy)
Day 5 β Beach Club + Fine Dining Finish
- π₯ Breakfast & sunbeds at Da Ferdinando Beach Club β more laid-back and local than LβIncanto
- Swim, tan, nap
- βοΈ Afternoon gelato + browse ceramic shops (sooo many photo ops!)
- π Get ready for your big night
- πΈ Drinks + fine dine at Aldoβs at Le Sirenuse β hands down the chicest dinner spot in town
- Everything is flawless: cocktails, service, the terrace, the views.
- Definitely book well in advance.
- End the night watching the coastline sparkle β¨
π Days 6β8: Capri β Boats, Beaches & Bougie Dinners
Now Capri has become my favorite! Capri isnβt for rushing. The island has character, calmness and a lot of beauty.
π Day 6 β All Aboard: Full Boat Day
- π€ Book a private or semi-private Capri boat tour (suggested: Le Bellezze di Capri / Capri Boat Service)
- β³ Duration: ideally 7 hours (but there are 3β4 hour versions if you are not a boat fan)
- Youβll cruise around the island:
- π Grotto of the Heart
- πΏ Coral Grotto
- π Blue Grotto (18β¬ entrance fee β small wooden boats take you in, light reflection and lovely blue waters)
- π Swim stops in quiet coves, music, snacks β great photo ops π
- π½οΈ Dock at Marina Piccola for lunch β good food, even better view
- πββοΈ Afternoon chill or nap
- π· Evening: dress up for Il Riccio (Dior beach club restaurant) β come for sunset drinks, stay for dinner
- Book this in advance.
βοΈ Day 7 β Beach + Town Chill Combo
- Choose your beach:
- π§ββοΈ Lido del Faro β more rugged, locals love it
- π΄ La Fontelina β chic, iconic, lots of linen (it gets full very early, book in advance)
- π Marina Piccola β chill vibes, iconic umbrellas and has nice calm water
- Morning β swim + tan + lunch at the beach club
- Afternoon β wander Capri town, hit a few boutiques
- π Dinner at Santina β this is a new spot in town, we really enjoyed the food and service there
- π Alternative: if you want casual pizza vibes instead, go for La Grotelle (quiet, rustic terrace)
- πΈ Nightcap: Hotel La Palma rooftop β trΓ¨s elegant
π Day 8 β Repeat, Rest, Romance
- Optional second beach day OR
- Sleep in, wander Capri town
- ποΈ Grab a final souvenir (limoncello, coral jewelry, etc.)
- π Head to the ferry looking tanned, tired, and like a woman who had a curated Italian coastal week
𧳠Final Travel Tips for Capri:
- Book boat tours early β peak season sells out fast
- Reserve all dinner spots in high season (especially Il Riccio, La Palma, and La Fontelina)
- Capri is expensive β this is the most expensive out of this South of Italy trip but worth it in my opinionπΈ
