🇬🇷 Go Eat Pasta’s 1-Day Chios (Sakız Adası) Escape
From Çeşme to cute villages, beach dips & a perfect seafood table.
⛴️ How to Get There
Take a ferry from Çeşme to Chios — it’s a quick 20-minute ride that feels like a mini escape to a whole new mood.
- Ferries are offered by Ertürk Lines, Turyol, and Chios Ferries
- Usually 1 departure in the morning and 1 return in the evening — so plan your timing accordingly!
💡 Bring your passport, and check ahead if you need a Schengen visa or special same-day pass. You can get a visa in arrival to island but keep in mind there might be a bit of a queue especially on national holidays!
🧿 What Kind of Day Is This?
Think: slow travel girlie with a bit of salt water and a glass of white wine. This isn’t a checklist day — it’s 3 beautiful stops, all vibey and aesthetic, with enough time to soak them in.
🗓️ 1-Day Go Eat Pasta Itinerary: Chios Edition
1. Morning – Arrive in Chios & Head to Pyrgi Village 🏛️✨
After arriving at the port, head straight to Pyrgi — the famous village covered in black & white geometric mosaic facades.
It’s artsy, quiet, and the perfect place to wander slowly with a coffee in hand. Snap photos of every corner — you’ll thank yourself later 📸
🧃 Bonus tip: Grab a fresh juice or espresso in the square. Most cafés are lowkey but cute.
2. Afternoon – Beach Time in Komi 🏖️
After Pyrgi, head down to Komi, a peaceful beach area. Think:
- Clear water
- Umbrella rentals
- Relaxed crowd
- One or two beach tavernas if you need a snack
Bring a bikini and keep it casual — you won’t need more than a towel, SPF, and your fave sunglasses.
3. Late Afternoon / Early Dinner – Fish by the Sea in Lagkada 🐟🥂
Wrap up your Chios day with a scenic seafood dinner at O Passas in Lagkada. This restaurant is right by the sea — the kind where you hear the clinking of plates, soft water sounds, and smell grilled octopus from two streets away.
The seafood here was amazing. Order:
- Grilled octopus
- Fried squid
- Fried zucchini
- Saganaki
- A classic Greek salad
- and for sure Ouzo 😊
📍This is the spot. It feels local, unfussy, and absolutely delicious. Great value for money as well!
🚢 Return Ferry
After dinner, head back to the port for your evening ferry. The timing’s tight, so keep an eye on your watch (but don’t stress — island time is gentle).
💬 Final Notes
- Ferry round-trip: book ahead in high season
- Wear comfy walking sandals (Pyrgi’s cobblestone is cute but uneven)
- Mind the crows and lines in island entrance especially on official vacation days, national holidays etc.
